hungry and impoverished of our world. It all began in in July, 2006 with the help
of my neighbor, Lisa, her minivan and our kids. We collected
$18 worth of bottles (360 bottles and cans) that Saturday from Kirby's,
Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesdays, and Hooligan's. Today, almost two
years and a whole lot of pickups and nickels later, I am grateful and
blessed to report that to date we have collected more
than 95,000 bottles and cans or $4,750. The money is donated to
the charities listed on this site. Feel free to visit their sites by
clicking on their links and make your own
contribution.
Sure it's tough making your own ends meet, but by offering up some empty bottles and cans you can literally help save lives and the environment. Look at it this way, you get to drink your beverage, and those who are orphaned, poor or sick get to benefit from the container it was in.
